While waiting for some information about the very early days here is a brief summery of the club.

The Club was formed in approximately 1975. The West Australian Radio Soarers (WARS) is a RC Model Aircraft Club located in Yokine a Suburb of Perth Western Australia. Originally a Glider Club WARS like many others has progressed into electric Park flyers and a few of the smaller sized Helicopters.

We are privileged in having a fantastic and well maintained park to fly from which is fairly central (Only about 10 minutes from the Perth CBD) in the suburbs of our capital city Perth. Our flying field is located on Coolbinia reserve off Wordsworth Ave Yokine. Our Flying Field is a Public Park maintained by the City of Stirling who have granted written permission for our members to fly on this Park. The Field is all nice green grass.

The Club meets every Sunday from 9.00am to 1.00pm but you will often find a few members there on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

We use this field with permission and support from the City of Stirling.

As stated on the signs at the park the City of Stirling HAVE NOT given permission for non members to fly model aircraft from this field. Visitors and prospective Members are welcome to attend anytime and participate on club flying days.
